Attorney David Reagan
David Reagan was born and raised in Los Gatos, California. He graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder and attended Santa Clara University School of Law. In law school, he found his true calling as an advocate for justice, assisting immigrants in workers rights cases and adjustment of status at the Katharine and George Alexander Community Law Center and working at the Santa Cruz and Santa Clara County Public Defender offices. Upon graduating, Mr. Reagan obtained a Certificate in Public Interest and Social Justice Law by participating in a community service project in New Orleans and a human rights immersion program in El Salvador.
Beyond advocating for justice in law school, he also fine-tuned the legal skills that would come to serve him well in his future endeavors. Beginning in the first year of law school, he won the Galloway Criminal Law Moot Court Competition. The next year, he won the prestigious Honors Moot Court Internal Competition, overcoming 26 teams of fellow law students. Due to his victory in the Honors Moot Court Internal Competition, he was sent to Oxford, England, to train with an Oxford professor on how to argue a case in the English style. At the culmination of this training, Mr. Reagan won a moot court argument against a team of English law students with English judges presiding. He continued his passion by participating in the New York National Moot Court Competition and he was a board member of the Galloway and Honors Moot Court Boards.
After graduating in the top percentage of his class, Mr. Reagan moved to Guadalajara, Mexico, to study Spanish in an intensive language school. Due to his passion for Latin culture and desire to learn how to communicate with his clients in their own language, he has had a great deal of success in learning Spanish, although he is dedicated to constantly improving his knowledge and fluency.
Mr. Reagan has applied the skills he learned in law school and while practicing appellate law, family law, and criminal defense to become a formidable opponent in any legal action. Some of the highlights of his appellate cases include reversing a first degree murder conviction on appeal, arguing a case in the California Supreme Court, and arguing multiple cases in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. In the field of clean criminal records, Mr. Reagan earned a local reputation as a strong practitioner, particularly in unique cases where relief was not obvious. Through all his legal and personal experiences, Mr. Reagan has gained a knowledge, compassion, and understanding that helps him work on difficult cases with clients who are facing serious consequences. That knowledge, compassion, and understanding is conveyed to the judge and opposing parties in criminal defense and family law matters, and delivers results that assist clients in overcoming serious hurdles in their lives.
Mr. Reagan is a father of two who understands the stress of raising children and joys of seeing them thrive. He has been selected a Super Lawyers Rising Star multiple times and served in leadership positions with the Alameda County Bar Association.
